The Opinion Articles section of Pensar – Journal of Legal Sciences is dedicated to the publication of analytical and reflective texts on legal, constitutional, political, and international issues of relevant contemporary interest.
Texts published in this section have an opinion-based and essayistic nature, aiming to foster qualified, plural, and critical debate in the field of Law and related disciplines, especially regarding current issues that impact the legal order, democracy, fundamental rights, and international relations.
The articles are signed by their respective authors — professors, researchers, jurists, and national and international specialists — and do not undergo a peer-review process, and therefore should not be confused with the scientific articles published in the journal’s regular issues.
The ideas, analyses, and viewpoints expressed in the texts are the sole responsibility of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the institutional position of Pensar – Journal of Legal Sciences, its Editorial Board, or the University of Fortaleza.
Publication in this section occurs on a continuous flow basis, according to the journal’s editorial criteria, prioritizing the qualified selection of texts based on the relevance of the theme, the timeliness of the proposed debate, and the author’s intellectual contribution.
The Opinion Articles published by Pensar – Journal of Legal Sciences are preferably invited by the editors, based on editorial criteria related to the relevance of the topic, the author’s qualifications, and the pertinence of the text to contemporary legal debate.
Exceptionally, the journal may receive proposals for opinion articles submitted by readers, professors, and researchers. Submission of a text does not imply any guarantee of publication, and the final decision is subject to the discretionary evaluation of the editorial team.
Submitted texts must comply with the following guidelines:
-
address a legal, constitutional, political, or international topic of relevant contemporary interest;
-
present an analytical and argumentative approach, with clear language and consistent reasoning;
-
not constitute a scientific article or an empirical research report;
-
have an approximate length of 800 to 1,500 words;
-
be accompanied by a short author biography (up to 5 lines) and a photo;
-
be original and of identified authorship.
Opinion articles are not subject to peer review and do not form part of the journal’s regular issues.
Proposals should be sent to the journal’s institutional email or directly to one of the Editors-in-Chief:
