Pensar creates the “Opinion Articles” section to expand contemporary legal debate
Pensar – Journal of Legal Sciences, a scientific journal published by the University of Fortaleza, has created the Opinion Articles section, dedicated to the publication of analytical and reflective texts on legal, constitutional, political, and international issues of relevant contemporary interest.
The new section aims to stimulate qualified, plural, and critical debate in the field of Law and related disciplines, expanding academic dialogue on current issues that impact the legal order, democracy, fundamental rights, and international relations.
The Opinion Articles have an essayistic and opinion-based nature, are signed by their authors, and do not undergo a peer-review process, and therefore should not be confused with the scientific articles published in the journal’s regular issues.
It is important to emphasize that the ideas, analyses, and viewpoints expressed in the texts are the sole responsibility of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the institutional position of Pensar – Journal of Legal Sciences, its Editorial Board, or the University of Fortaleza.
Publication occurs in a continuous flow, with the expectation of publishing at least one article per month, according to the journal’s editorial criteria, prioritizing the qualified selection of texts.
The section is composed, preferably, of articles invited by the editors, and may exceptionally receive proposals submitted by professors, researchers, and interested readers, with no guarantee of publication.
This initiative is part of the process of strengthening and internationalizing Pensar, which is currently evaluated as Qualis A2 by CAPES and is undergoing submission to the SciELO and Web of Science (WoS) databases.
As the first text published in the new section, the journal presents the article “U.S. Intervention in Venezuela and the Crisis of State Sovereignty in International Law”, authored by Professor Khalid Cherkaoui Semmouni, a specialist in Constitutional Law and International Law.
