“¡Qué comportamiento grosero! Itinerarios, campo conceptual y nuevas posibilidades de investigación de la incivilidad en el trabajo

La incivilidad está relacionada a los comportamientos irrespetuosos, hostiles y rudes, entre los trabajadores en el ambiente de trabajo. El objetivo de este estudio es identificar como se encuentra concebida la estructura conceptual de la incivilidad en el trabajo, por medio de mapeamiento de los itinerarios de la producción científica internacional. A partir de una revisión sistemática de la literatura, desarrollada en la Web of Science, sin delimitación temporal, fue posible presentar insights y un entendimiento más amplio y profundizado de este campo específico de estudio. Los resultados revelaron que la estructura conceptual del tema es reunida en cuatro clusters de investigación: incivilidad y variables moderadoras (concentrada en las experiencias de los individuos), relación de la incivilidad con variables del trabajo, incivilidad instigada y cibernética y los antecedentes, y la incivilidad y su relación con el autocontrol y ansiedad. Además de esto, fueron identificados los antecedentes y consecuentes de la incivilidad, lo que dio origen a un modelo teórico, a las prácticas y políticas de recursos humanos para mitigar y combatir los efectos de la incivilidad. Consecuentemente, una agenda de investigación fue proyectada con nuevas oportunidades. Esta revisión puede orientar gestores y académicos en la comprensión sobre la naturaleza de este tipo de comportamiento y cuales prácticas de RH pueden contribuir para mitigar comportamientos inciviles en el trabajo.
