Transferencia reversa de conocimiento en negocios internacionales: Una revisión semi-sistemática de la literatura

Resumen

Este artículo enfoca la crescente importancia de las subsidiarias extranjeras como fuentes significativas de conocimiento y ventajas competitivas para las empresas multinacionales (MNEs). El punto focal es la transferencia reversa de conocimiento (RKT) proveniente de la subsidiaria extranjera para la matriz de la MNE, examinando la literatura pertinente por medio de una revisión semi sistemática de la literatura. El estudio, basado en 102 artículos recogidos de 1984 hasta 2022 en las bases de datos Web of Science y Scopus, objetiva mapear clusters por medio de la herramienta VOSviewer sobre estudios que enfocan elementos relevantes para la efectuación de la RKT. Los resultados revelan insights valiosos para las MNEs aprendan con sus subsidiarias extranjeras, como adaptación local, capacidades tecnológicas y de innovación, nuevas prácticas de gestión, prácticas de responsabilidad social y sustentabilidad y capacidad de absorción del conocimiento, consolidando posiciones de mercado ante la concurrencia. Además de contribuir para la literatura de negocios internacionales, gestión del conocimiento y RKT, el artículo ofrece implicaciones prácticas y gerenciales. Las limitaciones identificadas, juntamente con recomendaciones y una agenda de investigaciones futuras, proporcionan una visión total y robusta sobre el papel crescente de las subsidiarias extranjeras en el escenario global de las MNEs.
