Peer Review Process

The Journal of Administrative Sciences - JAS adopts a meticulously rigorous and well-structured peer review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the articles it publishes, focusing particularly on management and administrative areas. The process begins with a preliminary evaluation by the editors, who verify whether the submitted manuscript aligns with the journal's mission and editorial line, ensuring that only works that meet relevance and thematic adherence criteria move on to the following stages.

After this initial validation, manuscripts undergo a double-blind review process, in which at least two anonymous experts in the field of administration are tasked with conducting a detailed qualitative evaluation. Each reviewer has a period of 15 to 25 days to analyze the content and provide constructive feedback, including criticisms and suggestions for improvement. This double-blind review method ensures the impartiality and objectivity of the evaluation process.

The reports generated are then compiled by JAS's executive committee and sent to the authors, giving them the opportunity to revise their works according to the feedback received. At this stage, authors can make the suggested adjustments and resubmit their articles for another round of evaluation, which is crucial to ensure that the proposed modifications enhance the academic quality of the manuscripts.

After receiving the revised articles, they are evaluated again to check whether all the reviewers' recommendations have been properly incorporated. The final selection of articles for publication considers criteria such as the scores assigned by the reviewers, thematic relevance, academic contribution, institutional diversity of the authors, as well as the inclusion of articles in different languages, as required by academic evaluation bodies.

Throughout the process, authors are kept informed about the progress of the evaluation through the Online Journal Management System (OJMS), which facilitates transparent and efficient communication between all parties involved in the editorial process.

Exceptionally, the JAS editorial team may invite recognized experts to contribute articles. These invitations are directed at professionals renowned for their expertise in specific areas of administration, offering an enriching and complementary perspective to the articles submitted through the regular submission process.

This careful peer review process ensures that each article published in the Journal of Administrative Sciences meets the highest standards of academic excellence, providing a valuable contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the field of administration.
