Objective: To evaluate the lifestyle of university professors, verifying the association with sociodemographic factors (gender, age, marital status and socioeconomic classification) and occupational (time and regimen of work). Methods: A cross-sectional study with descriptive characteristics. The sample consisted of 76 randomly selected professors, who voluntarily answered the instrument of information collection consisting of three parts: sociodemographic data, socioeconomic situation (ANEP) and lifestyle (FANTASTIC). Descriptive statistics, Chi square association test and Fischer´s exact test were used, with significance level of 5%. Results: Among the interviewed professors, 43 (56.6%) were female and 33 (43.4%) male. The average age was 38.5 ± 10.63 years. From the total sample, 41 (53.95%) had stable marital union and 43 (56.6%) were in social class B. From the interviewed subjects, 34 (55.26%) presented “good” lifestyle classification and 42 (44.74%) “excellent” one. There was a significant statistical association between the “excellent” lifestyle category and both female gender (p = 0,027) and stable union (p=0,031). Conclusion: The university professors participating in the study presented a good lifestyle evaluation, which was associated with female gender and stable civil union.Downloads
