Objective: To assess cardiovascular risk using the Framingham risk score (ERF) and its possible associated factors in a basic health unit (UBS) in the northern region of Brazil. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted with 55 hypertensive users registered at a UBS, between September 2018 and February 2019, in the municipality of Nova Mamoré, Rondônia, Brazil. The ERF was classified into three categories: low risk (<10% / 10), intermediate (10–20% / 10) and high risk (> 20% / 10). Multinomial logistic regression analysis was used to examine the association of the dependent variable ERF with sociodemographic, behavioral, anthropometric, and biochemical variables. Results: It was observed that users had high blood pressure levels of systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) (76.4%), showing a high prevalence of uncontrolled SAH. Exposure to cardiovascular risk factors by the ERF was high, highlighting the components of SME. The prevalence of low (25.5%), intermediate (32.7%), and high (41.8%) risk were found. The factors associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) were: male, elderly, inactive, overweight, high triglycerides, high systolic blood pressure, high fasting blood glucose, and high waist circumference. Conclusion: The study presented high-pressure levels of hypertension and high risk for cardiovascular events, according to the ERF, in components three and four, associated with the male gender, the elderly population, overweight, increased triglyceride levels, systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose and waist circumference.Downloads
