Obesity and dietary patterns are risk factors that are strongly associated with cardiovascular disease. This occurs directly when excess weight leads to metabolic dysfunction, or indirectly when a decrease in body capacity prevents physical activity. It is known that eating habits are acquired in childhood and develop throughout life, with harmful consequences for health. Cases of cardiovascular disease generally appear with increasing age, with a predilection for adults and the elderly. However, there is evidence, worldwide, of an increase in the prevalence of this disease in increasingly younger age groups.
