Suicide attempts by poisoning

The study had as mainly points to identify the reasons that took people to commit suicides’ attempts through poisoning, and also to investigate the type of poison used by them. During the months of April and May of 2000, fourteen people put up with suicide test at the Emergency unit at the Santa Casa de Misericordia in the district of Sobral, Ceara. The data was collected by semi-developed interview, and the study’s analysis was centered in convergences and divergences contemplating predetermined categories. The reasons that took them to commit suicide are intimately linked to a family and social problems. Finally, it was identified that there is a connection among the personal aspirations with the reason that took them to commit suicide. It is added, that the theme requests systematic studies, topic’s exposure, and attendance multi professional. The focus on the health promotion should permeate the care to those human beings who emitted “their alert screams”.Downloads
