Objective: To explore the political–economic awareness of undergraduate students and graduates in Dentistry regarding vulnerable populations and social inequities in dental care. Method: This study employed an online survey design, using a questionnaire consisting of 24 multiple-choice questions and seven open-ended questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics as measures of variability. Responses to the open-ended questions were compiled and coded using content analysis. Results: The questionnaire was accessed by 99 individuals, yielding 38 complete responses. The sociodemographic profile consisted predominantly of women, young adults, recently graduated professionals working in the state of São Paulo. Perceptions of the labor market were influenced by personal experiences and academic training. Respondents demonstrated knowledge of the social determinants of oral health, valued community outreach programs, and expressed willingness to provide care to vulnerable populations, revealing critical awareness and commitment to collective social well-being. Conclusion: The relationship between undergraduate students or graduates and the Brazilian Unified Health System reflects awareness of equitable access to dental care and highlights the need for collaboration between dental professionals and the community, integrating clinical practice with the social context. To achieve multidisciplinary and multidimensional integration in oral health promotion, changes in the dental curriculum are required, as current teaching remains fragmented.
