The present work aims to analyze the impacts of the insertion of Energy Efficiency (EE) measures in a Public University, conducting a case study at the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA). Furthermore, it is intended to identify and analyze the qualitative and quantitative benefits that such measures have provided to the institution. To this end, a historical approach was carried out, in chronological order, on the initiatives aimed at EE that were implemented by UFERSA in recent years. Thus, the elaboration of the Energy Efficiency Program, the exchange of conventional light bulbs for LED technology, and the actions focused on environmental sustainability were identified as the actions incorporated by the University through the installation of Solar Photovoltaic Plants (SPPs). Based on the energy generation estimates of the SPPs existing at UFERSA, it was found that, since their entry into operation until the current year, they were responsible for generating a considerable amount, providing a very expressive monetary economy. Regarding the measure of replacement of conventional fluorescent lamps by LED lamps in UFERSA buildings, it was verified that in the last three years, there was a reduction of around 35% of the installed load referring to the lighting of the University, also providing significant monetary savings.
