Teaching and transmission of psychoanalysis: an experience in Universidade de Fortaleza

The present work aims to discuss the teaching of psychoanalysis in the university, more specifically in the department of Psychology of UNIFOR – Universidade de Fortaleza. We tried to understand and discuss some of the difficulties, possibilities and impasses of such teaching. We begin by drawing a history of the entrance of psychoanalysis in university and the Freudian point of view of such insertion. Considering that psychoanalysis and university are two different discourses, we asked psychology students about the implications of such teachings in their university formation. The method of research was qualitative, with interviews and content analysis. We worked with thirteen youngsters, all of which are psychology students of UNIFOR, in two different moments. Six of them were fist year students and the other seven were last year students. The bibliographical references were the contributions of Freud and Jacques Lacan to the issue.Downloads
