Abstract

This article shows studies about foundation practical of buildings in root pile in Fortaleza. As first approach a national and regional description, it main characteristcs, a map of the occurrences of this type of fundation in Fortaleza and a comparative degree of costs with other kinds of pile. Then is analyzed the applicability of methods half-empiricists used for the calculation of the load capacity of root piles.
