Moral harassment: a perverse pratice in the work

Abstract

based on the observation of distinct organizational contexts in the city of Fortaleza/CE – Brazil. The analysis method used was a qualitative approach founded on etnography and fenomenology. Moral harassment in work was understood as different forms of humiliation, demerits, improper appropriation of relations between positions, amongst other attitudes that compromise the fulfilment of tasks and relations in the working environment. As a consequence it can cause damages to personal integrity, physical and psychic harms for the people involved and also for the organization of work due to the struggling in the interpersonal relations, high rotation of employees, absenteeism, amongst other facts.
