Abstract

This article shows how Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) can be applied to evaluation and choice of an e-procurement software. The Swing Weighting technique was used for weights assignment in the construction of a multiattribute utility function. Four alternative supplier’s solutions were considered: Ariba, Oracle, RightWork and SAP. Meetings and surveys were carried out in order to identify risks in the implementation of every potential tool as well as the necessity of a change in the management team engaged in the project. The problem was therefore solved through its structuring and a multicriteria analysis. The final result from the study fulfilled the need for safety and transparency in the management decision-making process.
