Abstract

The Ultra sound is one of the most used resource in the physiotherapy for the treatment of several diseases. One problem that usually physioterapists meet is the uncertainty in the intensity of sonic radiation emitted by that kind of device. The ultra sound device naturally presents a decrease in the intensity of radiation by the use and the question to the profissional is to know when to send the equipment for calibration. Mainly in country such as Brazil the availability of centers for calibration is very limited so in the present study a simple method of calibration using analytic balance is proposed. A experimental setup was assembled and 14 ultra sound devices was submitted to the process of aferition of calibration. The proposed method did show beneficial to the professionals of physiotherapy since it is simple, reliable and cost competitive.
