This work aimed to analyze the strength of structural masonry prisms using ceramic blocks. For this, laboratory tests were carried out with hollow and solid wall blocks, four traces of mortar composed of cement, lime and sand, in which three of them had additive in their composition. Six types of prisms were also tested, varying the type of block and mortar. The tests of the blocks showed compressive strength within the expected. For mortars, the trace without additive had the highest compressive strength. That trace of mortar allowed the prisms the greatest strength found. However, the relation block/mortar strength follow the standard waited just for solid walls block.
