Semantic inadequacy of the vocabulary in school compositions

Starting from analysis of students’ of 3rd series of the High School compositions, night shift, of a school of the municipal district of Maracanaú, metropolitan area of Fortaleza, Ceará, the students’ great difficulty was observed in using the lexical item need for the exhibition of their ideas. That denounces a teaching in level phrasal, disabling, the student, of developing his/her linguistic competence for the effective use of the language. Keywords: Vocabulary. Teaching.
