“Bom-Crioulo”, by Adolfo Caminha, is a sort of novel that caused a real boom at the end of the XIX century. The author was moved by a revenge feeling, concerning on strict points of view in relation to punishments adopted against homosexuals in Brazil’s Navy Corps. This work points out the key issue of naturalist thought. Above all, we observe that, naïve or pornographic, the story’s hero goes into the author’s mind and the writer gets a real goal, telling a misfortune which is also his and belongs to the reader too.
