Abstract

The research focuses daily practice with reading of teachers from Fortaleza’s public education, in one reading room and two libraries of three municipal schools. The research encompasses: the teachers reading; their daily make; the influence of reading in such activity; being a teacher in a reading room/libraries; the reading room/libraries in the school context; the constitution of readers and texts in the school way; reading as “aesthetics experiences” and interactive process. “Aesthetics experiences”are understood here as affectation potentiality and involvement with the reading process. Based on the ethnographic method, through the participant-observation techinique, the researcher attempted to grasp and analyse the practices of/with teachers reading in the Brazilian context, where reading problems are associated with the school scenario. In the present research, envolving three school teachers, there were pointed out problems that denote an indefinition context, diminished sense of value, insatisfaction and empty senses of reading in their schools spaces. Keywords: Reading; School theachers; Aesthetics experiences; Ethnographic method.
