The solitude theme in “O Barão nas Árvores” by Italo Calvino

Abstract

The “Barão nas Àrvores”, written by Italo Calvino, even though has been narrated in the Middle Age, briags the theme of human relations in a relationship brought to modern times, in an association of images, showing how the weight of a strict education, repression, social values, act upon the individual, fat that may cause isolation and loneliness. Manytimes, it results not only from the impossibility that certain individuals demonstrate in adapting themselves to their own environment, but also and mainly from the effort that they do, refusing rules and valves inserted in the environment they live in.
