Abstract

I reviewed the book Between dawn and the power, of Augusto César Benevides, whose trajectory in the fields of journalism and advertising seems confused with the changing dynamics of the city of Fortaleza. We seek focus in the report memorialístico, both its history as the re meaning it from its division between their two symbolic worlds represented by the ‘power’ and by ‘dawn’. Parallel to his personal experience, is the memory of his generation that lived intensely the Fortaleza of the 70’s, with their trade, clubs and nightclubs. The autobiography is thus not only a story of personal life, acquires documentary character, in that it records, so sincere, the town’s history a part of space and time behavioral changes that mark the people and the very dynamic of urban space.
