Abstract

Environmental policy in Brazil presents events, publications and mobilizations that occurred throughout the centuries to mark its existence as a nation. After its launch, with an exploratory process of colonization and trade, were small and sporadic actions with the aim of establishing a sanctions or a law to meet with the accelerated devastation of forests and other natural resources. But it is from the middle of the twentieth century that topping the ecology and its manifestations as political and social movement. This paper summarized some of the processes, events and documents that marked the trajectory of environmental policy in the country, presenting the main actions and public policies, especially of bias legislator who sought solutions to the management of environmental resources and shows the Brazilian media as tool to disseminate and alert to major changes in recent decades.
