Instructions for Authors
Revista Subjetividades, managed by the Higher Publishing Council linked to the Vice-Rectorate for Research at the University of Fortaleza, aims to expand national and international academic and scientific production in the various fields of psychology, as well as related disciplines such as the social, human, and health sciences. The journal publishes on a rolling basis and presents to the academic community and other interested readers theoretical articles, research reports, interviews, and reviews, in electronic format and with free access.
If the article is accepted for publication in the journal, the authors must provide their ORCID number for publication. As of 2024, all articles published in the journal are also made available in English. The English version is generated using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in the translation process and is reviewed by the Revista Subjetividades editorial team.
Policy and Ethics
The journal operates in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA) Manual (link), which outlines criteria and guidelines for scientific publications and the roles of the main actors involved in the process. We also follow, both ethically and operationally, the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (link), which promote the identification of plagiarism, misconduct, fraud, and possible ethical violations.
Revista Subjetividades does not charge fees for the submission, processing, or publication of manuscripts.
Purpose
This publication aims to disseminate the most significant scientific contributions developed around the following themes: Subject, Psychological Suffering, Society, Culture, and Social Organizations, presented in the form of original articles, research reports, theoretical studies, literature reviews, book or film reviews, and interviews.
Conditions for Manuscript Review
The editorial process begins only if the manuscript submission complies with the guidelines established in this document. Otherwise, the manuscript will be returned for adjustment to the journal’s standards.
The average evaluation period for manuscripts is 12 months.
A condition for publication is that the manuscript has not been previously published or simultaneously submitted or accepted for publication in another journal. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are checked for plagiarism using the Turnitin system.
Submissions undergo an initial desk review. If they meet the journal’s publication criteria and are deemed potentially publishable, they are forwarded for peer review (double-blind review), ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.
Reviewers issue opinions with justifications that may recommend approval without changes, approval with revision suggestions, or rejection. If revisions are requested, the Editorial Board will evaluate the revised version and make the final decision regarding its acceptance, including whether further revisions are required. Authors will be informed of each stage of the process.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to make minor modifications to the authors’ texts in order to expedite the editorial process.
